This version being released responds to an education and training need for improving the water quality of our receiving waters. Also, the BMPFast software helps meet the permitting requirements of various local and state permitting agencies. These requirements change, so new releases will be made available when approved for use by at least one review agency.  It is noted that every effort is made to include the typical BMPs and agency requirements; however, it is realized that flexibility is needed for permitting, and all aspects cannot be addressed in all the learning modules and software.

A release of new learning modules and software will be made after changes are well documented and flexible in use for at least one review agency. Flexibility is also maintained in the sense that one set of rules may not be the same in all areas.  An example is that some codes do not encourage the use of some BMPs, while others do.  Another example is that the disconnecting of the DCIA in one area is not the same as in others, or no curb cuts are allowed in an area.

The software and learning module updates will be available in a release log. All releases will have the release date on the splash screen and on each of the printouts.  With this first release of the education/training materials and software, you have access to the software and learning modules until July 7, 2027.  At that time, it is expected that another version of the software will be available.  For new releases, and with this initial registration, the cost is $75. This cost will help support new releases and will help cover the research, assessment of practical acceptance, development of new learning modules, and updates of existing ones, as well as programming of the new software.  New registrations for the learning materials and software after July 7, 2027, are expected to cost $700.

Registered users will be notified of new releases and the features of these releases.

Common Errors

Incomplete Download

If the download did not complete, you will see a file that looks like this in your downloads directory. There are 2 possible courses of action: 1. Wait to see if the download completes; a slow connection can stall a download. 2. Delete the file and reinitiate a download of the BMPFast setup. If the download is successful, you will see a file called BMPFastSetup.msi in your downloads.
