Tree Well

A tree well is an area that has provided or disturbed soil to support a specific tree. A tree is defined as a woody perennial plant, typically having a single stem or trunk growing to a considerable height and bearing lateral branches at some distance from the ground. The soil has a sustainable porosity, and the supplier should provide that data. If not, the choice in 0.20 inch of water per inch of soil depth is typical. There are three choices within the input field for sustainable porosity. There is an input field for the storage of water above the media, plus the tree canopy capture. The depth of the tree well is specified as the planting depth of the provided or disturbed soil.
